Why was the throne of the Most Merciful shaken by the death of Saad bin Muadh?
The opinions of scholars differed and there were many in their attempts to provide a definitive answer to the question that was repeated by many Muslims, which is why the throne of Rahman shook because of the death of Saad bin Muadh. I love the mountain of Uhud for the Messenger of God, and the people of our Arabic language emphasized this, and they said that shaking in our Arabic language may be expressed in the meaning of joy, so the throne of the Most Merciful shook because of his joy at meeting Saad,
And some of them believe that he was shaken by God Almighty’s warning to his angels of the arrival of Saad, may God be pleased with him, and some of them said that the shaking of the Throne of the Most Merciful due to the death of Saad bin Muadh was an expression of the extent of God’s love for Saad bin Muadh and his joy in meeting him, so follow my dear ones to show you the most important opinions of scholars in decisiveness The question of why the throne of the Most Merciful was shaken by the death of Saad bin Muadh, and here are the most important opinions:
The companions of the first see in their answer to the question of why the throne of the Most Merciful was shaken due to the death of Saad bin Muadh that the reason for the shaking of the throne of the Most Merciful is his joy and good news about the arrival of Saad bin Muadh, because Saad bin Muadh is beloved to God Almighty and to the people of earth and heaven all because of the intensity of his righteousness and piety.
Al-Hafiz bin Hajar said in Al-Fath in his interpretation of this hadith narrated by Imam Al-Bukhari, may God be pleased with him, that the Messenger of God, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, said: (The throne shook because of the death of Saad bin Muadh).
What is meant by the shaking of the throne here is that he was informed and pleased with the arrival of the spirit of Saad bin Muadh, so it is said to everyone who was happy with the coming of the one coming upon him, he was shaken by him, and the reason for his interpretation of the shaking of the throne in this strange way is that it was one of the customs of the Arabs to express their happiness at the arrival of a person by saying that he had been shaken to him.
Al-Bara bin Azib also supports this view, when he says:
The throne of the Most Merciful was shaken severely by the death of Saad bin Muadh, in anticipation of his coming, which made his sticks loosen.
This opinion is considered one of the most likely opinions presented by scholars so that Muslims know why the Throne of the Most Merciful was shaken due to the death of Saad bin Muadh.
There is another explanation as to why the Throne of the Most Merciful was shaken by the death of Saad bin Muadh. This hadith:
That Gabriel said: “Who is this dead person for whom the gates of heaven were opened, and its people rejoiced in him?” Directed by the ruler.
This opinion is considered one of the most important opinions presented to us by scholars to answer this question, why the throne of the Most Merciful was shaken due to the death of Saad bin Muadh.
Where some scholars went to explain the reason for the shaking of the Throne of the Most Merciful due to the death of Saad bin Muadh, who was one of the senior companions and the most elevated of the youth of his people, that it was a warning to the angels that the soul that ascended to them is the soul of one of God’s righteous friends, as God singled out the vibration for God’s righteous friends without others from human beings.
This opinion is considered one of the most important interpretations of scholars that have tried to find out why the throne of the Most Merciful was shaken by the death of Saad bin Muadh, but we cannot be certain of its validity because there is no evidence to prove its validity.
Some scholars said in their answer to the question that many Muslims would like to answer, which is why the throne of the Most Merciful was shaken due to the death of Saad bin Muadh that the reason for the shaking of the throne is due to the intensity of God Almighty’s love for Saad bin Muadh for his righteousness and the strength of his faith, and the evidence for that:
What was narrated on the authority of Abu Saeed Al-Khudri, with a chain of transmission traceable back to the Prophet, said: “The throne shook because of the death of Saad bin Muadh from the joy of the Lord Almighty.”
There is another evidence suggesting this reason, which is:
What was reported on the authority of Ibn Umar, where he said, he said, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him: “This righteous servant for whom the throne was moved, and the gates of heaven were opened for him, and was witnessed by seventy thousand angels, who did not descend to the earth before that, and he joined a bundle and then was released.”
There is also another opinion that Muslim scholars have agreed on that the throne of the Most Merciful was shaken at the death of Saad bin Muadh, with joy at his arrival and warning the angels of heaven about his death, but they differed with them in the fact that he did not see that what is meant by the shaking of the throne of the Most Merciful here is a dignity for this great companion who loved the people of earth and heaven, and this It is the opinion of Almazri, may God have mercy on him.
There is another opinion that explains why the Throne of the Most Merciful was shaken due to the death of Saad bin Muadh, and this is the opinion of Al-Harbi. It is the death of Saad bin Muadh, as it was one of the ancient Arab customs to link important cosmic events with great events.
While discussing this question, why was the throne of the Rahman shaken due to the death of Saad bin Muadh, another opinion appeared strange and opposite to all opinions, which is the opinion of bin Omar, where bin Omar sees that the throne mentioned in the prophetic hadiths that confirm the shaking of the throne of the Rahman due to the death of Saad bin Muadh, is not intended by the throne. The Most Merciful, but the throne on which Saad bin Muadh carried his funeral, and that it shook because of its weight.
This opinion was taken from Al-Sa’ib’s bid, but we disagree with this opinion and do not support its validity, as this opinion was subjected to severe criticism, because Ataa Al-Sa’ib when he said this opinion was an old man who was confused by many things. Because there is an honorable hadith narrated by Anas bin Malik, may God be pleased with him, that confirms that the hadith of the Messenger was not intended for that throne in which Saad was carried at his funeral.
Anas bin Malik says: (When the funeral of Saad bin Muadh was carried, the hypocrites said: How light was his funeral, and that was because of his ruling on Banu Qurayzah. So the Prophet – may God bless him and his family – said: If it was carried, he said, peace be upon him).
Al-Hakim also said that the hadith of the Throne of the Most Merciful shaking due to the death of Saad bin Muadh, no one questioned its authenticity, whether in Sahih al-Bukhari or in Sahih Muslim, and it supports the saying of those who interpreted the shaking of the Throne of the Most Merciful because of Saad’s death with joy and the people of heaven rejoicing at the arrival of his soul.
Who is Saad bin Moaz?
After we knew together why the throne of the Most Merciful was shaken by the death of Saad bin Muadh, let us know together who is Saad bin Muadh and what is his life story as follows:
We are talking here about a great young man who was loved by the people of the earth and the sky, and the angels rejoiced at his arrival, and for him the throne of the Most Merciful shook. He is Saad bin Muadh Al-Nu’man bin Imru Al-Qays, the master of Al-Aws and Bani Abdul-Ashhal, who had a great role in the victory of Islam, its spread and the consolidation of its pillars in Medina.
Saad bin Muadh sold himself, his family and his people for the sake of God’s pleasure. Saad bin Muadh gave his life as a sacrifice for Islam. Islam is the first and most important thing in his life and the last of everything. And the affairs of his life take place completely on the basis of adherence to the orders of God and His Messenger, and he is subject to their orders.
The Messenger of God, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, described him as one of the tallest companions, and the most powerful of their bodies. The Messenger, may God bless him and grant him peace, called him “The Master of the Ansar” because of his great stature among his people despite his young age. He is also the master of youth and the most intelligent of them.
The story of Islam Saad bin Muadh
After we knew together who Saad bin Muadh is, and why the throne of the Most Merciful was shaken by the death of Saad bin Muadh, let’s get acquainted together with the story of Saad bin Muadh’s conversion to Islam as follows:
The story of Saad bin Muadh’s conversion to Islam, may God be pleased with him, began after the pledge of allegiance to Aqaba when the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, sent the great companion Musab bin Omair to Madinah, to invite its people to the religion of Islam, and to teach them the teachings of this new religion and the glorious Qur’an of God.
Usaid bin Hudair, may God be pleased with him, was among those who converted to Islam at the hands of the companion Musab bin Omair, may God be pleased with him.
And Usayd desired the Islam of his cousin Saad bin Muadh, wishing that Sa`d would attain the goodness and happiness that Usayd had attained, and this is evidence of the nobility of Usayd bin Hudair’s morals, for he loves for others good as he loves it for himself.
Usayd, may God be pleased with him, went to Sa`d bin Mu`adh, the master of Bani Aws and his cousin, and told him about this new religion. Usaid to the place of Musab bin Omair, and he intended that God Almighty guide Saad’s heart to Islam and Musab bin Omair could convince him of the religion of monotheism.
Musab had a great ability to persuade, and he was honest in his word. Indeed, Saad bin Muadh went to Musab bin Omair angry and threatened him to pour anger on him in the morning. Musab advised him not to rush and to listen to what he had first and then judge based on what he had heard. He was right about that, so he listened to him, and Musab recited some verses from the Qur’an to the ears of Saad bin Muadh, so he opened his heart to Islam, and thus Saad bin Muadh embraced Islam at the hands of Musab bin Omair, and his age was not more than thirty years.
Situations that made him worthy of shaking the throne of the Most Merciful for his death
There are many situations in the life of Saad bin Muadh that made him deserve to make the people of heaven rejoice at the arrival of his soul and shake the throne of the Most Merciful for his sake, and here are the most important of these situations, so follow them to know them:
After his conversion to Islam, he gathered Bani Al-Ashhal, men and women, who are the people of Saad bin Muadh, and he was their leader, then he asked them all about their opinion on his person, and they answered him that he is their master and their leader, and everything he commands them is obeyed. They all testified that “there is no god but God and that Muhammad is God’s servant and messenger.”
This was the beginning of the entry of the religion of Islam to every house in Medina, and this position shows us why the throne of the Most Merciful was shaken by the death of Saad bin Muadh. Through his hands Islam spread and entered all the houses of Medina who supported the Messenger of God when he emigrated from Mecca and he and those with him from the Muslims sought refuge in Medina. and its people, and the homes of Saad and his money were entirely in the service of Muslims when they migrated to Medina, and the evidence for the correctness of this narration:
What Ibn Ishaq said, where Ibn Ishaq said: “When Sa`d embraced Islam, he stood before his people and said: O Banu Abd al-Ashhal, how do you know my affair among you? They said: Our master, please, and our right hand is a captain. He said: The words of your men and women against me are forbidden, until you believe in God and His Messenger. He said: By God, there is no man left in the house of Banu Abd al-Ashhal, and there is no woman but that they pray.”
There is another situation in the life of Saad bin Muadh that made him deserve to shake the throne of the Most Merciful for his death, where in the Battle of Badr and before the battle began, the Messenger of God, peace be upon him, consulted the soldiers of his army, because they had gone out to get a commercial caravan from the Quraish to compensate for what were infidels. The Quraish had plundered it from them before, carrying light weapons with them, and their number is not permissible four hundred men, but God Almighty has decreed fighting for them, and they were not prepared for that.
So Abu Bakr, Umar, al-Miqdad and other Muslim soldiers delegated the matter to the Messenger of God, but the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, did not mean these, as he was referring to the Ansar, that is, the people of Medina. .
And the Messenger of God, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, wanted to make sure that they would continue to support and protect Islam and Muslims while they were outside the city and far from it, so Saad bin Muadh understood the purpose of the Messenger of God and said his famous saying where he said:
O Messenger of God, we believe in you and believe in you, and we bear witness that what you have brought us is the truth, and you have our hearing and obedience, and you have taken covenants and promises from us on that, so take from our money what you want and leave us with what you want, for by God we are steadfast in war and patient when meeting, so go, Messenger of God. Whatever you wish and we are with you, so by God, if you were to plunge us into this sea, we would go into it with you, not one man of us would be left behind. By God, we do not hate that you will meet the enemies tomorrow, and perhaps God Almighty has written for us a great victory for Islam, so the Messenger of God, peace and blessings be upon him, smiled and said. For the Muslims, rejoice, walk on the blessing of God, for by God, it is as if I see the wrestlers of the people.
This position is considered one of the most prominent situations in which Saad bin Muadh’s service to Islam and his willingness to sacrifice anything in order to support Islam and the Muslims.
The third position
If you, dear, would like to know other situations that answer that question that has always been in your mind and preoccupies your mind, which is why the Throne of the Most Merciful was shaken by the death of Saad bin Muadh, one of his great positions that made him deserve to shake the Throne of the Most Merciful for his death is what he did in the Battle of the Trench.
After the success of the enemies of Islam in tightening the noose around the Muslims and besieging them for a month, the Holy Messenger of God, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, thought of establishing peace with the polytheists, so that he would give them a third of the fruits found in Medina so that they could go with their people and leave the land of the Muslims.
But when the Messenger of God, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, consulted Saad bin Muadh and Saad bin Ubadah, and presented the matter to them, Saad bin Muadh objected to compromise and reconciliation, and insisted that Muslims should not confront the enemies of Islam except with the sword, and he said to the Messenger of God, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, “Let them exert themselves on us.”
The martyrdom of Saad bin Muadh
There is no doubt that the martyrs have a great position, for they are alive with their Lord and receiving sustenance. In addition to the great situations that made Saad bin Muadh known as the master of his people, there is another event that made him worthy of the people of heaven celebrating his arrival, which is the choice of God Almighty for Saad bin Muadh to be a martyr. , After he believed in his intention to wage jihad in the way of God.
Where Saad bin Muadh was injured in the Battle of the Trench after being hit in the ankle, a vein in the middle of his arm, by a man from the people of Quraysh, called “Habban bin Arqal”, so the Messenger of God, peace and blessings be upon him, set up his own tent in the mosque for him to rest in. And until the Messenger of God visits him in peace after the end of the battle, and it was reported on the authority of Aisha, may God Almighty be pleased with her, telling about the moments of the ascension of the pure soul of Saad bin Muadh to his Lord, and she says:
Then he spoke to Sa’d, who had been stoned to recover, and he said: Oh God, you know that there is nothing more beloved to myself than that I strive against you for a people who denied your Messenger and expelled him. Oh God, I think that you put the war between us and them. And if, O God, you have put a war between us and them, then detonate it and make my death in it.
He said, so the war broke out, so he did not take care of them – and the people of the tent were with him from the Banu Ghaffar – except that blood flowed to them, so they said: O people of the tent, what is this blood that comes to us from before you? If he is happy, his wound will bleed; So Saad bin Muadh died and his pure soul ascended to his Lord, and perhaps his martyrdom tells us why the throne of the Most Merciful was shaken by the death of Saad bin Muadh.
Finally, we have known together, why the throne of the merciful was shaken due to the death of Saad bin Muadh, and we presented to you the most important opinions that have discussed this issue, and we said that the most likely one is that he was shaken because of his great joy at the arrival of the pure and pure soul of Saad bin Muadh, or because of the joy of the Lord of the throne at the arrival of Saad and his love for him. In any case, the shaking of the Throne of the Most Merciful is not an ordinary matter. Certainly, the shaking of the Throne due to the death of Sa`d is a feature that God Almighty distinguished with it.
